Yep, I'm loving it.........

Another reason for getting one is Nintendo are going to bring other games out which require the use of the balance board.

Can't get my other half off it right now! According to the Wii, I'm now 3 lbs lighter than last night all because I went running today and had a right good blast on the bog! :D

My boyfriend nipped into town yesturday morning to go to HMV for a few things and was asking one of the assistants about the wii fit and apparently some of the staff from CEX bought all their stock at £69.99 and put it on sale in CEX for £80.

Be Warned, there is a max weight limit of 21 stone. If you are thinking of buying it for someone, please check first. I had to and it wasn't suitable at the time.

Cheers

Absolutely. What Ninty have done this generation really will have implications long in to the future. I say let MS and Sony fight for the me too lot with the flash graphics. Nintendo will be and are scooping up everybody else and making very loyal fans out of them.

Absolutely. Sony and MS think it's all about graphics and RAM, etc. whilst Ninetendo just know it's all about FUN.

Hats off to them.

PS. Love the Fit, and lost 70 pounds already.

Only the wii has improved and advanced gaming and only the wii is offering something different. I'm sure PS3 is great and i know 360 is a superb machine but ultimately they're nothing more than a tarted up megadrive

I had a go on a friends yesterday, seems its just weighing scales in a box but it's quite entertaining. The ballance things are good fun and it tries to teach you Yoga and stuff. Not sure whow it would make you fit but I don't think brain training games do much for your brain either! Getting out the house if probably a better idea if you really want to get fit but it's good fun.

I like the interviews on the Nintendo site - they give a good insight into how the balance board was created and how designers were asked to develop 'something like bathroom scales' :)

http://us.wii.com/wii-fit/iwata_asks/vol2_page1.jsp

They actually went to visit manufacturers of scales. The amount of pulling out of hair and redesigning the chaps at Nintendo did was extraordinary :)

It's fascinating to find out just how your body moves on the board - at the end of some exercises you are drawn a line of your left and right movement.

I never realised I was so unfit though .. I only did the short jogging exercise and was puffing and panting.

No not at all, but being someone who knows a bit about how your body uses energy and the most efficient way of losing body fat, I can tell you that this little step isn't going to tear the calories off you. Its the same with Wii Sport, if anyone is depending on their Nintendo as a means of shedding a few pounds I can only predict a very long, hard slog

That said, at least it will be mildly entertaining.

In the respect that people will be aware of their height, weight, bmi (although I don't take the BMI too seriously) then yes, it serves a purpose. But as a mean to get fit, yes we can both agree its useless :)

Don't think the Wii Fit is actually about getting fit. It seems to mention your posture quite alot and that's as important as anything.

It doesn't just expect you to use this as a get fit thing as it gives you a log to write down any other activities you have done in the day (gym, jog, walking etc).

I personally enjoy it. As an M.E sufferer it helps me do gentle exercise and can feel the muscles in my legs working nearly straight away.

 to Nintendo

Doesn't this depend on who you are and how fit you want to be. I could see it being a great tool for people who can't get about much to get some exercise. Surely you can agree any is better than none.

Having had an Op on my back last year and still having disk problems, both of which are constantly giving me problems, the Wii lets me do exercise at MY pace. I have tried the gym, but the only thing I can do is the treadmill and even then I have to stop after 10 minutes of fast walking. With the wii I can at least TRY things in my own time.

I never considered it for people who have since replied to my last post, so yes, I suppose it is a good outlet for fitness.

The trick is Saffy, you don't catch the hoops and swivel at the same time, the second after they've thrown it stop swivelling and lean right over to the corresponding side - your swivelling hoop shouldn't fall down in the process : )

why buy something that tells you your obese or your age is 53 when your age is 28 sod that and look at the priceBecause you'll lthen do something about it? So eventually you won't be obese. It doesn't tell you your age is 53. It tells you your performance reflects that of someone who is 53 theres a massive difference

The price is £70. To join a gym costs way more over a year. YOu clearly know the price of everything and the value of nothing

After hearing all the fuss about it for the last few weeks I finally had my first go on Wii Fit last night at my sister-in-law's house. Great fun and the jogging really brought me out in a sweat too. Felt good as I've not been involved in any form of exercise for ages. Scary though when it's measuring up your BMI and actual body age. It told me I was 43 and I'm only 32!!!! :o :o :o
