I need to buy some cables to hook up my router to the pc's. Does it matter which kind of cables i buy?? Will i notice any difference between the 2 apart from the price??

One is shielded twisted pair, the other is unshielded.

For just day to day house stuff UTP should be fine (although some supreme techie may advise otherwise!)

All the existing areas at the Hospital where I work are cabled in cat5 UTP.
This seems to run the data network without any problems.
