I'm moving house in 3 weeks and need a removal company to shift my stuff. Anyone know of any good ones? Or a man with a van (and a mate?)

Does the lack of replies mean there are no good removal firms? :-)

There's a thread in general discussions about removal companies.

Try andys van on here, we were very happy with the service and he was by far the cheapest quote we had. i would highly recomend him :)

You should try Avante Removals or Arrow Removals. Both offer similar services and both feature on this Forum with good feedback (try searching keyword Avante or Arrow).
Avoid man and van. Anyone can go and buy an old Transit or similar and become an instant remover. Companies that run lorries require an operators licence from the Ministry of Transport to carry goods for hire or reward. This is not a simple pay and receive licence like the waste carrier type, its difficult to get and holders must show continual adherence to very strict operating regulations. Man and van services are fine if you don't have much stuff or anything of value. Other noteworthy removers are Lawlers, Acorn, Mainline, SBS & Castles. Don't be fooled by a cheap quote. Insist on a visit and draw a conclusion from there!
