Hi there,

Im thinking of applying for a job through Sheffield council for an admin position at a school.

Can anybody tell me what the full time hours are for Sheff council so that I can work out the pay? (Its pro-rata).

Also, what is the situation re school holidays? Is the salary split equally over the 12 months or do you get underpaid for the time off?

Thanks! x

Hiya, I worked for 32 years for SCC, part of that time in a secondary school (office/library). F/T hours are 37hrs. Working term time, I got paid only for the weeks worked but had 12 pay days (pay was 'diluted') hope this helps?

I think so yes.... thank you! So the pay is 21,500 pro-rata and its 32 hours per week... so thats 18,500 in real terms.

The ad says its 39 weeks per year, so the salary is equally split between the 12 months? So its 18,500 / 12?

I assume there is no annual leave like normal jobs, your just off when the school is closed?
