Esther Rantzen with the big teeth? :suspect:
NEKRO138 04-07-2008, 10:22 That's the one. And the incredibly shrill voice, on that record at least.

OR WAS IT THE ONE IN THE VILLAGE USED TO BE SHARKYS OR MILLERS BAR ?
LAST TIME WE WENT IN NEPTUNE THE POOR LASS DJ DIDNT HAVE A CLUE HOW TO WORK THE EQUIPMENT FELT SO SORRY FOR HER:hihi::hihi::hihi:
Last Karaoke I went to I sang:
Rhinestone Cowboy
Two Out of Three ain't Bad
Bat out of hell
As you can probably tell I'm a bit of a Meatloaf fan.
Classic Rock 06-07-2008, 00:05 Darkness - I believe in a thing called love (always fun to hear the guys trying to hit the high notes)
Meatloaf - Paradise by the dashboard light - gives me time to go to the bar and to the ladies room as it goes on for nearly 10 mins.
Queen - anything. Just anything. The 'I wanna be and think I can sing like Freddie Mercurys' are pure class.
Robbie Williams - Angels (please stop now, everyone does it, pick something original)
Men trying to sing anything by Abba. It's too high for you, guys. Dont do it!
absynthfairy 06-07-2008, 22:39 As a regular attendee of various karaokes I think the most common songs are;
1.Angels - totally agree with Buffy there.
2.Never Ever - All Saints. Brilliant when sung well - awful when virtually talked by drunk gaggles of women
3.Sweet Caroline. Karaoke I went to on Friday there were 4 Neil Diamond songs in a row. Wrong.
4.Whole Again - Atomic Kitten - with rude substitutions and comedy regional accents in the talky bit.
5.Valerie - Amy Winehouse - very common at the moment so I've stopped singing it. Wouldn't wish to be typical lol.
My personal top 5...
1.Warwick Avenue - Duffy. My new favourite.
2.Sweet Child O Mine - Sheryl Crow. My karaoke nemesis always sings the original version of this after I've done this and shoots me evil looks as she does so.
3.Hero - Mariah Carey. For competitions.
4.It's All Coming Back To Me Now - Celine Dion. My all time favourite and as long as two songs so it's like cheating lol.
5.Who Knew - Pink. Any Pink actually.
Thinking about writing a book about the karaoke circuit - you do meet some characters...love it.
TheBlueDragon 06-07-2008, 23:15 My last songs I did was:-
1, Honey - Bobby Goldboro
2, Kingston Town - UB40
3, Legs Get Rocked - Def leppard
4, One Piece At A Time - Johnny Cash
5, Beauty School Dropout - Frankie Avalon
Strange songs to do I know but apparently I do them all well specially the last 2 and UB40
_BLADESMAN_ 08-07-2008, 16:22 Last ones I sang (last weekend)
1. Wherever You Will Go - The Calling

(sang both with my son)
3. Shine - Take That

If you like Bryan Adams, try that one from Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, Everything I do.
I sang it once, and it was rubbish, doing a song sung by a Canadian in a broad Yorkshire accent just doesn't sound right IMO.
RedRocker 15-07-2008, 07:55 Sang that with a band I was in years ago!!! Great song but it was played to death!!! Might give it a go at the Moorfoot on Wednesday.
