I keep up to date with some of the latest sounds thanks to my kids and have to say that I do like quite a lot of what's going on.

I also read quite a few threads recently such as ones referring to the ages of SF users and their particular tastes in music and felt prompted to ask the above question.

I like some of my kids stuff but the rapping I just can't get on with.....

my 10 year old introduced me to Keane and Linkin Park which I think are great but eminem I just can't listen to I'm afraid!!

My 5 year old daughter listens to some awful teeny-pop stuff (think S Club, High Five, that sort)

so, no, I don't enjoy it at all ;)

my son likes a mixture of old and new. hes 11.
He likes green day and also things from the 70s like sweet.
At his school in the music lesson they were given some marc bolan tracks to listen to .
so its good that todays kids are given the chance to listen to all kinds of music.
My son absolutely loves the beatles (not my doing at all) he also collects memorabillia.(probably wrong spelling.)
I took him to see the bootleg beatles at christmas and he loved them.

Hmmm, now I don't mind some rapping if it fits in nicely with the beat and if the lyrics are catchy (not filthy). Despite Eminem's choice of words on occasions (this applies to other rappers too)
I do enjoy listening to rap.

I like all sorts really and while my own kids seem to stick to rap, R&B etc I do enjoy quite a variety. Is it just me or does anyone else like, 'It's all about you'?

Both my kids are into a real mixture of stuff, not pidgeon holing themselves into one particular genre.

Daughter aged 15 is into a lot of (crappy) boy band stuff but does like other kinds of music too such as RnB/rap.

Son aged 8 is into the usual kiddy stuff like Disney Soundtracks, S Club etc but he also loves G4, some classical, and stuff like Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Ramones and GoldFrappe!!

I hate the whole boy band stuff but can cope with most other stuff.

Didn't grown ups say the same about Elvis at one time?

I love my kids choice in music! :) I don't know if they would say the same about everything that I play, lol and I'm frequently being chastised for the volume :(

....as in parents being stuffy and not accepting 'new stuff'.

Dizzy, I think, has exposed us to something new and exciting and with no swearing (that I can detect anyway) and no 'porn' content - shouldn't this be commended.

Some of you are fuddy duddies, I accept that.....

If he was anything like Elvis, you'd only complain he was copying and his career would have been over before it started as all past Elvis-like acts are.

............and further more..................Elvis.........snarling and mumbling in a cat suit.................couldn't dance a step.........
it was only the upbeat stuff that made it's mark in my eyes especially when mixed by a DJ.

Let Westwood get his hands on some stuff and you're talking.

Does Westwood have to be from the ghetto?

Go on then, upload your offering and let us all savour your talent - so to speak.

So Dizee isn't your fave, it's ok, it's allowed.
