Hello,

I found this forum by searching for news about Tony Christie's new hit 'Is This The Way To AMARILLO'.

As you probably know, the song is written by Neil Sedaka.
I always found this a great song, as especially Tony Christie's version.

Two months ago, I started a petition, to get Neil Sedaka into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame...

We hope all Tony Christie's fans would be so nice to vote for Neil!

Why isn't Bowie in the hall of fame?....

Maybe you should start a petition for Bowie! lol...
I used to play him frequently in the '70s and '80s.

About Neil... I came several times to your country to see him in concert (London Festival Hall). In 1999 he told a funny story about David Bowie: in the early '70s Neil was working with 10 CC on a new album. He met David Bowie on the airport and Bowie told Neil he was a big fan of him, and asked to play the guitar on one of the tracks of Sedaka's new album. But Neil Sedaka found Bowie 'too strange' - or something like that, he told it with a lot of sence of humour!!! - and he let it pass. But later, when Bowie became very famous, Neil regretted this whole story: he neglected one of the most famous artists in the history of Pop music to play on his record!

A person from the RAI (Italian TV) mailed me last week: "I am in New York and yesterday I have been to Neil Sedaka's home to interview him for my show on italian Tv. He is not only a great artist but also a truly likeable person."

And about Tony Christie: Neil is very proud of Christie's version of 'Amarillo'. Sedaka fans think it's time to induct him in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

I've got an Uncle Neil as well, and he's quite famous, in fact hes a leg end in his own lunchtime :P

Once saw a show on tv of his life story, He started from a really young age his voice was beautiful and didnt he start writing stuff at around 18 yrs old.
