beansforyou 22-04-2008, 20:55 Stop turning it on and off?
What do you mean by 'clear'? is your pc starting up properly?
dave17271 22-04-2008, 20:57 my pc is starting up fine its just my monitor it is very dark colored and at random times it just goes black but the power indicator says it is on and i can hear everything
one more thing it is doing is that the speakers that are built in the monitor itself are making fast clickin noises when they are turned on but the speakers connected to the modem are fine
dave17271 22-04-2008, 21:06 yea i think it is pretty much ****ed in the butt if i cant find a way to fix it im just gonna go dumpster diving and find some old one
I hope you've tried hitting it :D
dave17271 22-04-2008, 21:09 ive beat that piece of crap like an unwanted child or a stray dog

beansforyou 22-04-2008, 21:10 Could be the graphics card, is it onboard graphics?
dave17271 22-04-2008, 21:14 to tell you the truth i have no idea
someone told me it could be the video card or it could be the fact that plasmas only have a 3 to 4 year life span
dave17271 22-04-2008, 21:15 it is an optiquest q7 flat screen
Doesn't sound good ;_) Do you have another PC/Lappy that you can test it with?
Note from mods - yes, if you use the report link we'll be aware it needs doing.
dave17271 22-04-2008, 21:21 is there anyway i can just use a small tv for a computer screen and if so where can i buy the adaptors
is there anyway i can just use a small tv for a computer screen and if so where can i buy the adaptors
Yes easily.
The way I do it is with an S-Video (or S-vhs) cable. You'll have to check your pc'll take it but It's no good for day to day use (will scramble your eyes) ok for videos but text is very distorted on a small 50 or 60hz tv
dave17271 22-04-2008, 21:28 what cables are you talking about send me a link where i can see pictures of them or something because im not good with names and this is a pretty good sized tv so im sure i wont have much of a problem
Loads of people giving away monitors all the time mate, big bulky monitors are still good but nobody knows what to do with them when they replace them for a shiny new flat screen one. Put something on the wanted section on here (you'll have to collect though) You'll get one for nothing or very little...
sixriver 23-04-2008, 00:04 Using a t.v as a monitor would probably be ok for watching films on it, but the resolution isn't good enough for use as a normal day to day monitor. I'd go with dave2004 suggestion and use a CRT monitor you should be able to get a decent used one for under £20 or try freecycle you may find some giving one away
