Help needed here folks.
When I was on Windows ME I had Photodeluxe and saved the albums on CD (hundreds of them). Now I'm on Windows XP it won't accept the Photodeluxe software so I can't view these photos.
Hope that makes sense. Anyone know of a way I can get round this.
My PC just says it doesn't recognise the format:confused:

What is the file extension?
Is it .pdd?
XP complains when installing the Photodeluxe software, but if you just agree that you're not bothered it should install OK. And it works OK, flakes out every now and then, but essentially works.
Thanks for replies.
Yes cjksheff, they are PDD files:thumbsup:
And hotphil, it just says it doesn't support this software, and there appear to be no options for me to choose.
I haven't tried installing it since XP Service Pack 2 - maybe you're not allowed to any more but I definitely had it running under SP1. Grrr.

If you cannot install PDeluxe (I note that Adobe have discontinued support for it now-and recognise the XP problem), think that your best bet is probably to get hold of Adobe Photoshop and then you can batch process them all quite easily into JPEGs and avoid future problems.
-or find someone with PS or PDeluxe to do the same.
Just to check that PS can handle a .pdd, if you want to e-mail one to me, send me a PM.
Thanks cgksheff,...have PM'd you:thumbsup:
Have Emailed you cgksheff, with file attached.
Thanks:thumbsup:

OK. We have a result.
Photoshop will open it no problem, but I am assuming that you don't have Photoshop.
IrfanView is shareware available here. (http://www.irfanview.com/) and will open your .pdd and then allow you to save it as a .jpeg file.
It also has a batch processing facility to make your life easier.
I've e-mailed the jpeg back to you as confirmation.
That's excellent cgksheff:thumbsup:
Thanks a million for this help.
Round of applause everyone
MAGIC!!
Bad news (for me)

Sorry Saxon51, Did you download all the plugins as well?
Yes cgksheff:thumbsup:
Downloaded so much I think I lost the plot.:(
Not given up yet though. Loads of the kids on the photos when they were younger so NEED to sort them.
Will let you know what happens...and how.
Cheers again.
