I can see both sides of the argument here, although I think I am leaning more to it being a good idea rather than a bad one. Especially for those whose kids want a dog, and then generally speaking, a few months down the line they change their minds and the dog either ends up in rescue, or worse.

Also, isn't it responsible to think of the dogs needs before buying one? A lot of people have dogs that are left at home all day on their own, is that fair?

Can of worms this one if you ask me lol

Hmmm not convinced a dog should be dragged from piller to post and be forced to adapt to living with a variety of people and in varying environments every few days - pets need stability and routine and they're not going to get it if they're being faffed about with by all manner of temps...So, when they develop psychological and behavioural issues as a result, what happens- they get dumped in rescue?

Here here! Sounds a bad idea for the dogs involved.

How bizarre.

Putting aside the psychological effects on the dog for a moment, at £280-00 for four days - I think someone is taking the mick here.

Will people stop at nothing to make money???

Poor dogs! Great for the human with deep pockets- what about the poor pooch with no routine, no consistency and an ever changing human 'not so fixed' pack leader?

If people want to walk a dog, but don't have the time, money etc to devote to owning a dog full time why can't they just volunteer at one of the rescue centres to dog walk? Thats free, and you can feel like you've done a good deed too.

have you seen how much some agencies charge to rent a designer handbag for a few days? Maybe they're trying to equate it to the same kind of thing and a similar audience. Ridiculous!

Agreed.

There are also tonnes of people who work full time who can't afford a walker and therefore can't have a dog. If they could team up with someone who just wants a dog for a couple of hours a day/ day or two a week then that would be another dog out of the rescues.

Same applies to summer holidays - match a family who can't take the dog with a family who can't have a dog during term time and hey presto. Everyone's happy.

I agree with that everyone has said about psychological damage - the constant introduction of new owners would be unfair.

Now that's a fab point, but are they available after hours?

No don't like it at all it was a subject on a dog board I use a while back and I was a bit on the fence but having thought about it and discussed it - I agree it's a terrible idea, feel very sorry for the dogs concerned :(
