Hi all,

Just a 'heads up' for anyone using BT Broadband, particularly their Business Service.

At the moment (and since yesterday afternoon) they've been having intermittent DNS problems across the system which means that sites are either not accessible or are intermittently so.

I've noticed it a couple of times here on SF, but you may also have issues with sites linked to from within SF or occasionally the adverts posted.

It also affects email, ftp and MSN to varying degrees.

Joe

major headache for me, bt broadband has been down all day, (well, from 8am this morning till around 2pm), i had to connect from :gag: dial-up :gag:, bt- there must be a fault with your connection.
erm, unless some spirit has mysteriously altered my settings, i dont think so!!
dont know about anyone else, but this was in the hillsboro' area.
everything ok now (touch wood)

I'm in Woodseats ... has anyone else local been having problems with telewest broadband recently? Evening before last I couldn't get online all evening but for a few evenings before that i kept losing msn intermittantly. The following morning it was ok and it's been fine since.

I was on with tech support and they tried all sorts of things to get me online nothing worked but they were clear that there were no problems with their service? This has happened once before, last year and they said then that there were no probs with the service. I'm not so sure, hence my question.

BT Business Broadband has been better today - there have been momentary lapses but nothing major.

The DNS issues seem to be resolved in the most part.

Serves me right for saying that I didn't have many problems with the service a few weeks ago!

Ruby - losing MSN is most probably an issue with MSN rather than your isp - its been really shonky just recently and the latest fix seems to not be helping much - we've had quite a few calls over the last few days - web traffic ok but MSN keeps dying.

yes, it does seem that everytime msn does an "upgrade" everything is messed up for a while afterwards .. but this was actually not being able to access tinternet at all - i just mentioned the msn problem as an aside.

The cable signal on the modem and the data lights on the modem were either very intermittent or not there at all ... i just wondered if my particular cable might have a fault or whether others in the area were experiencing similar problems ..

I mean, not to be able to access tinternet ... :help:
