Its quoted in Thursdays Star by a certain editor of a light rail magazine based in Sheffield that the public have not been warned in advance about there being no trains to manchester this weekend.

BULL!!!

As an editor of a magazine you'd think the individual would get his facts right

There are indeed no trains to Manchester this weekend, there haven't been any since end of December 2004!

A fact that is PUBLISHED in all rail timetables. All timetables clearly show from Dec 2004 to March 27th 2005 bus replacements in operation due to eginerring work. All timetables can be picked up off a rack at the station (sine Dec 04)

There are also posters all over Sheffield rail station concourse anfd the amended timetables on view.

I'm aware of the football match this weekend but as this work has been long term and ongoing and published for over 3 months most people should be aware. The safety of the railway is more important thean a match.

We should be pleased Network rail is investing in our area.

I know there is NEVER a good time to do enginerring work and some people will always, regratablly,be inconvienience,BUT it is a proven fact the fewer people travel over bank Holidays.

Maybe this so called editor should check his facts more clearly in future before shooting his mouth off.
