Why does traffic going straight on up wadsley lane at the Parkside Rd/ Middlewood Rd lights occupy the centre of the narrowed road approx 80yds below the lights on Parkside Rd?

When this narrowed bit was introduced cars could and did still occupy two lanes side by side.

Ever thought that drivers MAY wish to turn left on Middlewood Road? There SHOULD be two queues!!!!

Well if you can't be bothered to think, enjoy the queue, because traffic still in the queue that eventually turns left is also unintentionally holding you up as well!!!!!!

I do it on purpose in order to straddle the speedbumps. I'm never in a rush so am not that bothered about queuing, gives me more time to contemplate life and listen to some good music.

Is that a satisfactory answer?

Just thinking of my suspension. I think that takes precedence over other drivers dont you?

Plus if you think about it, two cars going over the same speed bump is asking for trouble. As you probably know its safer to straddle speed bumps, less chance of veering off.

An accident on there would make you even later so quit whining.

However, I would have thought a CRAWL would have made no difference.

I too will straddle bumps when travelling quicker. After all it makes them neglible if the wheels are aligned well at a reasonable speed.

I don't really expect to be travelling mirror to mirror at say 15mph, but if you're honest it is usually a crawl is it not?

Don't see why the council can't replace the speed bumps with potholes as they have done on lots of other roads, this would allow two lanes of traffic up to the junction and control traffic speed as effectively as speed bumps do :|
