They got rid of the 'Shoes' and swapped the 'I' & 'E' and now sell blackcurrant juice. . . Very successful from what I hear.

Sorry . . . . Im bored.

I bought loads of shoes from there. Winkle pickers mainly shoes and boots, they were really comfortable as well, they were a tad expensive but worth it cos the leather was so soft. I remember that they had a stall in either the Castle or Sheaf Market as well. Don't know what happened to them tho.

Ahhhh black leather pointed buckle boots!! The essential in any self respecting female Goths wardrobe!! I had several pairs of boots from there and often wondered what happened to the shop. Never been one quite like it since.

I bought some Brothel Creepers from there in 1978 after seeing The Clash wearing them at The Top Rank. My dad went barmy!! Also bought some with fake Leopard skin tops from there. After that I bought some proper Winkle pickers too. I also had some purple suede ones from Dempseys on the Park Hill shopping centre. Both shops now gone I see.

Last seen on the Dixon road market, opposite Argos. Selling just ..shoes... nothing special :(

They used to buy 'my work' back in their 'orchard square' days..
Printed tops, I used to sell lots of my stuff to Paul Lincoln at 20th Century Clothing too, just 'round the corner'
No one knows of these former days of Draggle :)
And who am I to tell :hihi:

Yes it was an institution, no wonder my feet are so weird now, all those pointy high heels, I had red ones, patent black ones..
Also what happened to X clothes it was at the top of Fargate, I used to buy pink" crazy colour "hair stuff from their, and what was that other shop called that used to sell cool stuff on Cambridge street?, not Pipppies, the one at the top?...ahhh the eighties.....

Ah- Rebina Shoes....
Decided to check this site out on the advice of my best mate Julie!
Well Jayjay, as has been discussed over many a night out with you in town, Rebina was indeed an institution!
Come on girls, how many of us begged our parents for a pair so that we could have the carrier bag for school.
Not having one had the stigma that taking a NETTO bag with your PE kit in it has today!
We may have had bleeding heels and blistered toes for the first few times as we were bedding them in but after a few times they were as comfy as slippers. So stylish, great quality leather. (expensive yes but lasted a lifetime) I had a pair as my wedding shoes.
REBINA FOR EVER!

I loved Rebina shoes but could never afford any. Came from a large family so when it came to fashion it was the friday morning market for me..... however you could sometimes get Rebina shoes from there if you got there at the crack of dawn. lol. I was soooooo jelous of my friends who could afford the latest styles and colours.

Despite being a rocker at the time I sneaked down to Rebina to purchase some "Jam shoes". These were winkle pickers with a white, almost basket work type, upper and black everywhere else. Can vaguely remember that I'd seen either Paul Weller or Bruce Foxton in something similiar and thought they would be just the ticket for pulling the chicks. (In my defence I was 14 or 15 at the time so guess it must have been around 1976 / 77 ish.)

Oh I so loved looking at the Rebina shoe shop and wished for a pair for ages. The popular, pretty girl in my class always had a nice new pair and I couldn't wait for the day I was allowed a pair. I did eventually get a pair but they were expensive. Would love to find a shop now. The pointed shoes that are on offer now seem such hard leather and the quality not the same.
