We recently lost our much loved dumbo rat aged 2yr 5mths. We still have 2 other girls but we would like a dumbo because they are such characters. I have seen dumbos' in Middletons but not sure about getting one from there

You could also pm mojo she has dumbo rats but I know hers are neutered now, just thought she might possibly know where to get them?

Hello, if only you'd asked five months ago when I had them coming out of my ears.
I rather shamefully bought my two from pets at home which is how come I ended up with a male and female from the male tank:suspect: but that's another story.
In my defense I wasn't intending to get any that day but I was stocking up on toys for when I was going to get a pair. When I saw the Dumbos it was love so I had to have them rather than leave them at the mercy of the store to be sold to just anyone.
I don't know of any breeders with them myself, I do know a Rex breeder but his girls are on a break at present so it will be at least six months until he has any ready to go.
If you do buy a female from pets at home then be advised that she will be of breeding age, barely, and could possibly already be pregnant.
I know this as when I called them in an irate state about my pair they offered to take any babies but not until they were twelve weeks and obviously they aren't sexed properly.

you could always consider rescue - there are often baby rats - dumbo and others on Pet Rescue Uk. Try also the RSPCA in sheffield and bawtry - they always have rats.
