Good score for the Blades, but I didn't think much of the prat from the Hull end who thought it big and clever to stage a one-man idiot pitch invasion, and kick the corner flag.

And I didn't think much more of him, when he lost his trousers as he was being escorted off the pitch, the flaming prat.

Good result for you although we both lost I think, didn't SUFC lose any outside chance of making playoffs today with other results? I'm asking rather than trying to take the mick btw.

I think it's to do with the history of the fixture from the "bad old days" that we always manage to bring one numpty to Bramall Lane.

The comments on our own football board echo yours, PT.

Just wish our team had turned up today :(

What a fantastic win today ,morgs getting sent off again what a prat, but the ref was even worse livermore should have gone when he pulled Sharpy down,Blackwell should have a new contract now,so come on McCabe give the best mabnager in the Championship a 3 year contract.

Well, the linesman in front of me (John St stand, plain yellow flag) spent more time poking at his flipping backside (well right buttock) than keeping his eye on the action on the pitch. He missed loads of blatant shirt-pulling, and "shoving" which happened directly in front of him, the eejit.

At one point, despite the fact that he should have been up toward the centre line, where the action and the ball were.. Where was he? Down in his corner

teabag... you missed nothing, really:- the wally invaded the pitch , and basically said "Here I am... Ban me from football grounds in the UK" (heheh). the senior woman-steward(the one with the shortish blonde hair) soon dealt with the prat, and got him off the pitch.

And the police etc piled in and subdued his struggling. Mind you he had lost his trousers before that, BTW.

I think he was just an eejit, who'd had a skinful.

Anyway, regardless, he'll be up before the "beak" shortly, and instead of being an eejit, who'd had a skinful he will be "an eejit who'd had a skinful and rec'd a ban"

I thought he'd fallen out with Warnock!

As an Owl, as much as I dislike Colin as a person, he's a bloomin good man manager. His style of play is pants but he does get the best from very poor teams.

Knowing where you're sat, I wondered if you had a good view of that. There did seem to be a lot of police and stewards round just the one bloke, but then again, there seemed to be a hell of a lot of pre-teens who ran along to give said prat a load of abuse too.

Not sure if I like that view of the Family Stand either. Then again, being told off by 20 kids whose combined age would have been about 140 is quite embarrassing.

Yes, I'm sort of toward the away end, on John Street Stand (JSS), so I get a good view of the antics on the away end.

The main problem, at the start of the match, as far as I could see, were the hull fans who were obstructing the steps/ gangway nearest the JSS. The gangway was chock a-bloc, and the police and stewards had to go in and explain to them that there was no need to be blocking the gangway, when they had seats.

I think the Hull-"fan"-pitch-invader was too sozzled to be bothered about the kids laughing at his sheer idiocy.

Ah, well, I'm sure a trip to the cells, and a blanket-ban from all football grounds, further on, and he might just have a bit of food-for-thought, (if he's in posession of two brain cells to rub together, that is) about the "wisdom" of a pitch-invasion.

After all, it's not hard to read those massive yellow and black warning signs that explain that it's an arrestable offence to encroach onto the pitch.

Never understood the point of a pitch invasion. Not in these times. It's not going to make you a "hero" like the old days of standing in the opposition end then legging it across the pitch to your own fans.

Just to redress the balance a little though, the steward who dealt with one gentlemen of advancing years after he was hit on the head by a coin thrown, really are inexcusable.

After standing up to shout over someone to report it, one "over enthusiastic" steward figured "act first, forget questions at all, never mind ask later" and tried to pull him out to eject him.

Which naturally caused some consternation amongst Hull fans.

Not really the best method of "crowd control" there and I hope the senior steward will have words with the individual

That's dreadful, do you know the gent in question who was injured?

If so, I recomend you encourage him to contact the club, re this stewarding problem, and get it rectified.

I've noticed, lately that there are a few new faces amongst the stewards, and they aren't at all "with it" when it comes to what they are supposed to be doing. Many don't seem to have the foggiest idea.

One steward, (I think he was a new one) the other week, seemed to think he was a spectator, because he spent pretty much the entire match with his back to the section of crowd he was suposed to be watching, and was watching the action on the pitch instead.

Things are going to happen with stewarding, I doubt the training (this applies to most clubs) is all that comprehensive and the pay not great for the times when they do have to deal with a drunken violent idiot.

And yes, being a steward might seem to some to be a "dream job" - free entry to all home matches, but the recruitment process should usually weed out those who just want to watch.

I don't know the gent personally but I hope he does feel the need to put pen to paper to prevent similar "misunderstandings" in the future

Then again, pillocks like the trouser-losing clown do tend to make things worse and lead to officials generalising and classing eveyone as a potential hooligan

Well, going on past county boundaries that don't really exist today, you are of course right, there is only one team in Yorkshire.

Middlesborough! :D

Not sure on that one but for some reason Sheffield United is the one fixture that attracts a contingency of idiots. More people living in the past I expect, from the old days of the fixture when 20 pints and a big scrap were the order of the day and maybe see a bit of football if lucky
