I'm wondering what people's thoughts are on the theory of 'What goes around comes around' In other words you reap what you sow or whatever past bad things you have done will one day be done unto you.

"The rede of the Threefold Rule" as we pagans call it.

In life as in everything you have to be careful what you do as it will come back to you threefold.

Do good, get good back; do naughty deeds and...well, you can work that one out pretty easily for yourself!

I think I should turn Pagan then :? I'm always nice to everyone but I'm still waiting for that niceness back, and good things to hapen to me! especially threefold... pshh

I think "you reep what you sow" is only valid half the time, I know lazy people, and arseholes that seem have life just handed to them on a plate, with good things happening to them, or them just being lucky and passing their exams, or getting a really great girlfriend... and then theres people like me who is always nice and polite to everyone, is an ear for everyones problems, who's endlessly helping other people and what do I get in return? girls messing me around, g/f's dumping me in the worst possible ways, friends never being there when I actually need them :? pah... I'm going back to my little hovel to mope! lol

I agree with you! i go out of my way everyday of my life to try and be nice to people and what do i get back????? NUTHIN! :rant:

NUTHIN! :rant: Therein is the challenge, many of the people who shat on my doorstep have come a cropper later and in comparison my life is good. I have a home, a three-legged cat, fans of my writing on four continents and I'll be marrying the most wonderful woman in a few months time.

The way in which life balances out isn't always visible and seldom deposits misfortune in the lap of people who did you wrong just to satisfy your feelings of injustice. You have to remember that the universe is bigger than one person and let go, retribution isn't for one person to hand out to another in such matters.

I definaltley believe what goes around comes around but then I believe we're all living in a vanilla sky. :D

Some of us have had stuff done to us, that we can`t let go of that easily, and thats why I wonder, why I try so hard and yet those that should be getting what comes around goes around get a happier life than me.

I must have done something really bad to end up in some of the jobs I've had!

I truly believe that 'what goes around comes around', and that everything evens itself out in the end.

It just depends on the length of the timescale you look at ......

im like that as well its just a hassle waiting for it to happen to those who have done wrong to me in the past guess ill have to be more paitent

I agree with StarSparkle.

It just depends on how long it takes a bit like the truth always comes out in the end saying.

Also we don't always know if the person who treated us badly gets the same back to them in return because people don't always admit to things going wrong in their lives.

I would love to believe in what you do.

I am afraid I can`t, and even though I won`t stop being nice to people, I know what goes around comes around does not exist in my life.

I believe in "do as you would be done by" but I see no evidence that doing something bad will result in something worse happening to you later.

Same as you Rosie - I hope what goes around comes around but I also want to believe crime doesn't pay. Unfortunatley there are a lot of wealthy people out there who don't deserve what they have like a couple of lottery winners that definately did not deserve to get so lucky!

I hope one day it all comes true and what goes around comes around for them!
