View Full Version : Mohamed Fayed: Enemy of the state Greybeard 24-03-2005, 10:01 Interesting documentary on C4 next week :D Preview here... http://news.independent.co.uk/people/profiles/story.jsp?story=622333 Phanerothyme 24-03-2005, 11:11 Like the journalist says - the longer you spend with Fayed, the saner he seems. He's always made me laugh and the assertion that he "has something on howard" that he will only "release in an emergency" is an entertaining thought. Dunno about HRH the duke of foot in mouth having orchestrated the deaths of the princess of wales and Fayed's son, but I can't help agreeing with him when he says this "Listen, I don't need honours. Your real honours are your achievements. What you give, what you leave for ever. I do things with care, with compassion, with love, with history. Harrods is my pyramid. The Ritz is my pyramid. My charities are my pyramids. I grew up with 7,000 years of history behind me. Why would I want honours from people who were wearing animal skins and carrying sticks when my people were the greatest civilisation in the world? Fug it." owdlad 24-03-2005, 11:16 That sounds as if it's going to be worth watching Greybeard. I would like to know the real reason for Fayed not being given British Citizenship when a lot of less worthy people are given them at the drop of a hat, however I suspect we will never know. foo_fighter 24-03-2005, 11:33 Originally posted by Phanerothyme Like the journalist says - the longer you spend with Fayed, the saner he seems. That probably has something to do with "Stockholm Syndrome" ;) Lickszz 24-03-2005, 11:39 Tony Blair as "a failed lawyer", how dare he? :hihi: :D I will try to catch this. Phanerothyme 24-03-2005, 11:56 Originally posted by foo_fighter That probably has something to do with "Stockholm Syndrome" ;) Hehehehe :D Only if Mohamed al Fayed kidnapped the journo. I remember when Mark Thomas collared him on a tour of Harrods and asked him to draw a picture of his genitalia, and Fayed duly obliged. More public (and pubic) figures like this I say! Definitely one to watch. StarSparkle 24-03-2005, 12:17 Originally posted by owdlad That sounds as if it's going to be worth watching Greybeard. I'm not particularly a fan of Fayed, although I do tend to admire people who've the guts to say what they really think in public. It's obvious he's never going to get British Citizenship because he's right royally p****d off the Establishment. StarSparkle Greybeard 26-03-2005, 20:38 10.00 pm Thursday 31st. I would like to have been a fly on the wall when Philip found out about Dodi and Diana :D rosie 27-03-2005, 09:03 I admire this guy for telling it as he sees it. I have a theory though, why does Charles want to marry as quick as possible with all the problems being thrown at the wedding. The report into Diana`s death comes out soon, what if something appears in it that would put a stop to him marrying. Why not marry before the report and then he it dosent matter what happens to his future he will have camilla and everyone will have to give her respect for the title she has. Something is not quite right with it all, unless thats just the suspicious in me. venger 27-03-2005, 12:42 Well worth a watch I bet. Lets see how much dirt is dug up and thrown at him ? I just fear it may be a little biased. |
