Is there anyone who is creative and can sew i am not :)

I need something similar to this

http://www.bonniedogs.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=21_56&products_id=240

Making although with a larger area on the sides of the dog. It doesn't need to be reflective just fabric that i could get wording printed onto. Not heavy material though or maybe a bit canvas like. I can get the material and fixings just need someone who is clever who could make it.

Have been looking online and cannot find anything that i want. Although have posted on dogpages as i can remember someone who had something similar made for rescue dogs who were a bit scaredy to ask people not to just walk over and stroke them.

I think it would be good to have something like this for collecting so my dogs can wear the rescue details on them or something like that :).

Let me know if you have better ideas, i just liked the design of the tabbard/vest as dogs would not get bothered to much if the weather was warmer whereas in a T shirt they could get to hot.

If anyone knows anyone in the sewing group please ask em :)

The pound shop sells something pretty much identical to it.

Could you make the sign/ get the sign made for you at the right size for the coat, and just attach it? Would that be an easier solution?

Adz, I wish I could help but my machine needs repairing :-(

I can't afford to get it repaired right now but if someone will fix it I'll make coats

Sew on pacthes would be easier to attach and we could probably use scrap fabric (i.e. an old dog blanket could make 2) and make them uniform with the patches.

I bought Molly something similar, but with a much larger coverage of her torso, on eBay a couple of weeks ago for £2. In my opinion it would be really hard to make them for that sort of money, once you've bought fixings etc.

The ones in your link are silly money though.

If you need different sizes then you could always buy one of each size at Poundland to use as a pattern piece- if you have one that you can take to pieces then making them should be a really easy process.

It would probably only take a few minutes to sew each one once you've worked out what goes where.

If you get some waste canvas (about £2.50 a pack from Hobbycraft) you can stitch the design on using that as your grid, then the waste canvas just dissolves away when you wet it and pul the strands through. People use this is put designs onto jackets, towels etc so no reason why it cant be used for these too

it is really easy to sew dog coats literally a square piece of material with straps that go round the dogs stomach will be fine as they usually start to fidget if it goes round the neck also probably just take 5 mins to hem and sew together, also if you put ties on it instead of velcro they fit better and various sizes too
