Is the number of callous, nasty scum of the earth people who deliberately harm defenceless animals balanced out by the good caring people?

As a person who prefers animals to people much of the time I was genuinely despairing and it seems that not a day goes by without hearing something even worse and more sickening about animal mistreatment, sometimes through ignorance but more often just deliberate cruelty.

I have to say guys that finding this forum has renewed my faith in human nature :) what a lovely bunch you are and if thats just one small section of the community in just on town in the UK then maybe just maybe there IS hope for the Human race after all. I was beginning to doubt it unfortunately...:(

The cruel acts of these sicko's is far outweighed by the good people that love their animals. The problem is you never hear about the good stuff as it's not news worthy.

Saying that though for years Yorkshire held the shamefull record of having the highest rate of animal abuse in the UK. I'd like to think that thats because we have more people that care enough to report it but sadly I think it's just a case of more cruelty goes on.
I don't know we still have that sad, sad record or if there's been an improvement.
