Hey,

Can anyone tell me how to get to Eckington on public transport from in/around the city centre?

I've been told the number 50 bus goes there but I can't find out how often or the route it takes.

Would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!

hi

i used to travel to Eckington to visit my sister and i always used the public transport service's this is what you wanna do

1)catch any bus/tram into the city center and head for the bus station
2)head for platform b6/c6/d6 (99.9% sure it's d6)
3)the bus you want is a stagecoach number 53 bound for mansfield this will take you straight to Eckington bus station and through the little town center
4)the bus arives every hour and every 2 hours on sunday (after 4pm)

hope this helps

You're 99.9% wrong. It's C6. :)

Both the 50 and the 53 go from this stop, and pass through Eckington bus station. The 50 only runs Mon-Sat during the day, though. In those periods, there's a twice-hourly service; the rest of the time, it's the 53 once every two hours during evenings and Sundays.

If your walking skills are up to snuff, you can get a 41 bus to Windmill Greenway (extreme boundary of Sheffield) and walk down the hill for about a mile to reach the village. Of course, it means walking up the hill for about a mile to get a 41 bus back home. :D

As is traditional with "What bus do I need" requests, here's the link for SYPTE's timetable finder;

And because it's payday today and I'm feeling generous, here's the 50 and 53 timetables to print off!

The Stagecoach 53 to Mansfield (not to be confused with the First SY service 53 to Lowedges!) leaves the bus station, on Weekdays, in Sheffield at 25 to the hour, from 0835 until 1635,

then it's 1740, 1900, 2100, 2300.

It serves Mosborough, Eckington, Renishaw, Barlborough, Clowne and Stanfree. Bolsover and Mansfield (not certain of the exact route between Bolsover and Mansfield)

Bit of an odd timetable, but, *shrugs* the first bus from Clowne/ Barlborough into Sheffield leaves Clowne at 0940 hrs. (Which is some good for someone on a 9-5 or early shifts!)
