If anybody fancies a night out next week, some of us are going to try the Riverside Cafe Bar on Mowbray Street at Neepsend for a Thai and Chinese buffet evening. Food is available from 6 to 9 p.m and the cost is £4.75, with vegetarian options available as well as meat choices. There is also their normal menu for anyone who doesn't fancy the chinese/thai stuff.
I am going to try and get there some time between 7.0 and 7.30, but there is no set time as such for this get together, with it being a buffet meal. There is no need to book, so anybody who is interested can just turn up on the night if they want.

Seen as there is no walk may join for this one as it sounds great. May ask a friend or two along as well.

For anyone not sure of where the Riverside Bar is, it's dead easy to find. It's situated about 50 yards from the Tesco Express on the new Ring Road section which was recently opened. Another couple of landmarks are the Harlequin pub, which is just across the road, and the Bridgehouses car wash, which is immediately opposite the pub. The 53 bus stops nearby, but having said that, it's only 2 stops from town, which any member of a Walking Group ought to manage no problem :P
Can I also point out that the Riverside is in fact a pub, so anybody who wants to just come along for a drink, can do so without feeling obliged to eat.
It's really nice to see that Eclair and friends are possibly going to come and join us, if there are any other newbies out there who are considering coming along feel free, you'll be made really welcome, I promise you. :)

Will there be a walk the following Thursday?

Don't think one is planned as many of the regulars will be off on their weekend jaunt the day after.

This, of course, does not preclude anyone else from organising anything

That was a pleasant evening.

The beer was good, the food was nice and plentiful (some a bit lukewarm) and the Riverside itself is a nice place to chill out and relax.

Strikes me as the perfect place for a Sunday lunch or afternoon just sitting by the river and reading the papers

Agreed, that was another enjoyable evening out with a great group of people - AKA walking buddies :hihi:.

But it's not just beer and food on the table we had Hemlock with a new GPS and scoobz with his book of walks and me with my OS map - seems like we can be serious about our walking as well as having an enjoyable time.

Just one strange thing, it appears as if Hemlock has a double life as she was apparently out walking with Repunzel (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showpost.php?p=3438976&postcount=34)

Oh and before anyone wades in THIS IS MEANT TO BE LIGHT HEARTED BANTER
