There are some new arpartments on West street opposite the City Hall tram stop.
They are not quite finished yet but they were taking the outside csaffold down just last night.
Heard there not cheap, but with watching the work thats gone into them for the last 18 month i,m not suprised.

Question is, who is going to buy these appartments?

Surley if you had the sort of money they're charging, you'd want to live in a nice suburb, not in the city centre with all the noise, pollution and crime that it brings.

The idea of a forum is that you come back here to read and share information :)

Yes to true i would do the same, 100k would buy a good view in the country but the question was specifically accomadation in the City Centre.
Believe it or not these apartments are popular and quickly snapped up.

Does any body know of any private landlords who have purchased any of these apartements, and are wanting to let them out?

Its going to be finished in a few weeks and if thats what your looking for drop us a line on this forum!

Out of interest David, roughly how much rent will you be charging per month?

Not being nosey, I'm just curious.

I would say curious not nosey!!

As it is a small 1 bed flat I think I'll pitch it in at £475 - £500 per month, probably closer to £475 though. It has no parking as parking spaces were £17500 each!!!! And they are all sold out!!!!!

Still a lot cheaper than other flats in town though!!

Balls.

I'm renting a large 2 bed 2 bathroom apartment in one of the new developments for £650pcm with parking which is about the standard rate. I'd rather pay that than £500 for a small one bed with no parking.

I can't understand why anyone would want to splash out £650 per month for a property that isn't theirs. It seems utter madness to me.

Indeed. You could be paying that a month into a mortgage and at least you'll have something to show for it.

Erm... because they can. Besides, I'm sharing so I only pay half.

I considered that very cheap compared to what you pay where I come from.

Like negative equity if the market goes tits up, but that's another argument. Yes you are right but I may only be in Sheffield temporarily that's why I chose to rent.

I totally agree with renting at the moment instead of buying, but £650 per month? That's a total pee take.

You could get a 3 bed house in hillsborough for £400.

It all depends on Location Location Location really.
You pay for the privaledge.

The same way you can't expect to buy a Thomas Burberry shirt for the same price as you would a GEORGE shirt from ASDA.

I don't really get this "city living" business, why on earth would anyone want to live in town? I can't think of anything worse.

If I were single, city living would be ideal for me. Close to work, pubs, clubs and city social life.

As a none single person a house with anice garden is the best choice for me because it's what the better half wants. If that makes her happy, then I'm happy!
