Thanks in advance... Heyesey 17-04-2008, 11:57 You're not supposed to ring the local Sheffield tax office. Everything is routed via the central switchboard. In fact, if you GO to the local Sheffield tax office and ask to talk to someone, they'll point you to a phone and tell you to ring the central switchboard. You may be able to get hold of a number, but don't expect it to be easy. vickb 17-04-2008, 12:04 If you are working it may tell you which is your tax office on your wage slip. I work in the City Center but my tax office is in Wales. Failing that your employer should be able to give you the contact details. puddinburner 17-04-2008, 12:12 I tend to agree with the second post....as a while ago, I was sent to tax office to sort something out and I had to use phone within the reception area to get to main switchboard. fatboyslim 17-04-2008, 13:00 0845 366 7802 is the enquiry line for HMRC, don't forget you will need your NI number and UTR or employers Paye reference when you speak to them.:) ChrisTodd 20-04-2008, 08:49 What do you want to know from the Tax Office? Different offices, and phone numbers, deal with different taxes. dan2802 20-04-2008, 08:54 0845 366 7802 is the enquiry line for HMRC, don't forget you will need your NI number and UTR or employers Paye reference when you speak to them.:) i've been waiting for my URT number for almost 2 months now!!! 30% tax is not a good rate!!! anyone know the phone number so i can chase this up? seanmac 21-04-2008, 12:16 Inland Revenue, Concept House, 5 Young Street, Sheffield, S1 4LA. Tel: 01142 969696 andyofborg 21-04-2008, 12:18 30% tax is not a good rate!!! Its the same as everyone else is paying dan2802 21-04-2008, 17:35 Its the same as everyone else is paying well, that depends how much your earning doesnt it? *SueW* 21-04-2008, 20:46 I can see that you have been given some conflicting information here. The former Inland Revenue has now been re-named HM Revenue and Customs. If you wish to pay a visit you need to ring 0845 366 7802 ( 0114 2969696 is not the correct telephone number although it used to be ). The people in the call centre will put you through directly to the office that you want to visit so you can arrange a suitable time and date. You can call into the office on the off chance that there may be a member of staff available to see you. However you have to be prepared for a refusal as they can only fit you in if someone has cancelled a pre-arranged appointment - much like a visit to the dentist. And yes, you must make sure that you take your national insurance number with you. |
