Hi,

This might seem strange but we seem unable to keep any goldfish- they all die off & we have no idea why. We bought a bi-orb tank as we liked the look of it. Hubbie looks after it, follows all the instructions, bought all the right stuff. We put fish in gradually as advised but then they start to die off one by one.

When we were younger we had goldfish which usually came from the fair for what seemed like years in just a plain bowl. It seems like keeping a few fish should be simple but obviously not for us. Any idea's or advise?

There's an optimum number you should keep according to their size and the surface area of the tank. Having a good filter and getting the balance of animal and plant life right is also key. You may also want to think about where you get your fish stock from and how you introduce them to the tank. Sorry to hear you're having problems- goldfish and othe coldwaters can be very messy and produce a lot of waste product which doesnt help matters either
