A couple of sexist debats going on.. so thought I'd add my own.

Why is it that, since the Bridget Jones films were made... Women seem to think it's sexy to wear MASSIVE GRANNY PANTS, eat alot more, far, burp... and be a general munter?

Also, women that watch the happy endings and expect the same in real life... IT'S JUST A FILM.. GET OVER IT!

Seriously, can all the males of the forum come together and arrange for the writer of these films to be hung.. preferably in a chamber full of gas whilst being shot at by 10 men with Mossbergs?

GazB

P.S. Women DON'T poo.. They simply "powder their nose", and that's that!!

As a male, I have watched both Bridget Jones films and found them really funny, nearly Excellent.

As far as clothing goes, my other half can wear what she wants as long as she feels comfortable.

Totally agree... whatever she wants to wear she can wear. It doesn't bother me.

Now, try replying after removing ones heads from the exit hole of the forum females

It should be made illegal to sell granny pants to anyone under the age of 35. Thongs/French Knickers all the way

Where is there any burping and farting in the bridget jones films? Or anywhere that encourages it?

Helen Fielding wrote the books & was actually highlighting how much we over analyse & self obsess not to mention assess our behaviour & what we are doing 'wrong'.

It's scary how the films have taken the point she was making & turned the story into exactly what Helen Fielding was gently poking fun at...

and no man should ever be allowed to wear underpants under the age of 35. boxer shorts all the way. and only 10 mins in the bathroom of a morning.

ok... if you say so...

I think the film shows that she is trying to be a 'better' woman who wants to be always well groomed and cool, calm and collected. Just because she is not always very good at that doesn't mean there is anything between the lines about farting...

Read the book before the first film came out...laughed a little, but though it got the usual mauling that follows the inevitable Hollywood dumbing down and stereotyping that the studios like to spoon-feed the US public with.

i call her mrs Bean - I think she was designed to make lazy women feel good about themselves. And 'as long as they're comfortable' come on guys - I expect any woman i spend time with to make an effort - those pants are a big no no! many women i know find thongs very comfortable

Got to disagree there! I don't intend to wear them when I eventually reach 36 either...

I honestly don't care what my girlfriend wears. I don't even see why it should matter :suspect:

womans pants are designed to turn men on and thus amplify the bond between man and woman - that is why they have frilly bits or they are revealling... If you have got to the stage in your relationship where you dont have any sexual feelings for eachother then i dont suppose it does matter..

Women expect men to look after themselves and guite right too..... so its important that a woman in a relationship makes an effort in the bedroom department otherwise you might as well be single - selfish and live on your own

girls its VERY important what pants you wear!!

I don't think that's the only purpose of pants. If pants are merely an "attractor", than all disney/cartoon logos etc would be banned as dodgy, and no men would be allowed to wear y-fronts. ;)

On the contrary, if you need a pair of pants to turn you on there's something wrong in your relationship. I don't need my girlfriend to wear a piece of strong to turn me on, and if she wants to wear nice, sexy underwear then I don't have a problem with that, but if she'd rather wear more comfortable underwear in whatever form she does wants it's not a problem. It's not that we don't have sexual feelings for each other, it's that the relationship is a deep REAL relationship that doesn't need 'kinky' underwear to turn me on.

So let me get this right, a 'real' man would prefer his girlfriend wears what he wants, rather than she wants, dictates what she would wear, how she should behave, when her boyfriend doesn't like her, and only gets turned on by her underwear?

Would you like a trip back in my time machine to the victorian times?

i was just jesting earlier - you didnt get it. In future i will try not to summons the wrath of our local feminist underground - i dont give to shags what anyone wears - and some of you know that and should know better!

Some of us got it - I was sorely tempted to pick up your 'filth' reference & run with it but I had this premonition of how it'd be misinterpreted & I bottled it...

Running with the 'filth' now is it? prrrrrrrr. Cant beat a bit of filth over the enormous, flapping, girth straddling, grannie pants.. Call me shallow but what relationship can withstand such pressures

I have two points to make here:-

First one - there is the joke about certain women wearing several layers of skirts and large undies - the punchline being, 'he has more fun looking for it....' Now there is a theory on this, key word 'imagination'.

Second point - Haven't seen the latest film but have the other two and my interpretation is that although BJ had settled into 'comfortable living', a chance encounter changes all that.
So she does make an effort despite the fact that she is liked/loved for her normal self.

How many guys/girls don't make an effort whether they've been with someone a while or have met someone new?

Any guy who really likes small undies should try wearing them for a day! I suppose that's another thread us girls could use.

Knickers do not maketh a woman.

Agree with you mate!

I dont really care what my missus looks like or wears I love her for everything really.. I cant pick anything really wrong with her.

We are just incredibly comfortable with one another and thats the thing that works in a relationship I reckon.
