would perfer them to be alive when I put them in my fish tank

dont think the pet section is the best place to put a request for shrimp to eat :-)

I assumed it was to feed to something else.

We bought some cherry and bumble bee shrimp from ebay, although they are quite small.

I believe some fish shops sell them, though it's just a case of ringing around.

We'd love to get some crystal shrimps, they're gorgeous :)

Fingers crossed ours will be breeding soon ;)

we got 2 at the weekend, just wood shrimp so they are not that colourful. Ive seen them on the internet. But I dont want to buy them mail order. They are so nice

Have you tried Viscum - they have 3 different places but if you give them a call at the Barnborough centre on 01709 893265 they may be able to tell you if any of their outles sell shrimp and they type they stock.

You could also try wharf aquatics at Pinxton.

Both of the above places have websites. They often stock a bit more than you 'run of the mill' types of water dwelling creatures.

the problem with getting shrimps from lfs comes down the the treatments they use, most shops have there tanks connected and use copper treatments to keep things healthy, but copper treatments are a killer for shrimps , also they have to order such vast amounts and with there short lifespan it could be a point of is it all worth it, you really need to find specialist store who understands the demand for these stunning critters , i have 100s of cherry shrimps but trying to get the more hard to find types like the blue pearl and the yellow is a dam nightmare, blue pearls at the moment i think are fetching approx 13.00 each ;-(

aqua hobby on prospect road in Heeley defo sell bumble bee shrimp, not sure on the cherry ones but they are a fab shop and can order in pretty much what ever you need.we have had shrimp from them and they are still going strong! give them a try -the staff are really knowledgeable especially vicky and shaun who work in the week(the shop is closed on mondays by the way).:thumbsup:
