I tried a search and couldnt find nething so i apologise in advance if this has already been covered.

When i first moved to sheffield my b/f pointed out to me the street lights you can see in rotherham from sheffield.

you can see them from the road that starts of as wood bottom (ecclesfield road) then its barrow road (the bit were you can see them) and ends up as tyler street. (near meadowhall)

anyway when you look out across rotherham from the barrow road part the street lights spell out the word "TOS".
we think its the estate on the hill behind meadowbank road.

Me n my b/f were just wondering if it was done on purpose? but we doubt it! lol any ideas???

So,

Streetlights have finally arrived in Sheffield then. Its good that you have now entered the 19th century.....

:)

As a Rotherhamer I couldn't take the abuse without giving a little back :)

you can see the hexagonal high-rise block of flats in Rotherham, that is beside clifton park, from sheffield.

When I lived on Hyde Park flats, in the tallest block that is now demolished, you could see over rotherham.
