I have exactly the same problem and it's very annoying!!
I'm just waiting till I have a whole day free to sort it out. The tap set is old and I'm guaranteed that if I try to do something like this in the evening or with little time available, everything that can go wrong will! :suspect:
cheers cgk
used to be the sort of thing that magically sorted itself, now im independant i have to ask u guys what to do!

A top tip to stop the noise of a dripping tap is to tie a piece of cotton thread as close to the spout as you can and the water will go down that rather than dripping.
i used an elastic band and fixed my dishcloth to it once the washing up was done!
but thats more of a short term solution than a fix

I think the only reasonable solution to a problem like this is to move.
