I am chairperson of a local alcohol recovery project, its name SHARP (SHeffield Alcohol Recovery Project). We are of a charitable status. We are a self help group with a membership of over 50 and a hard core attendance of 12/15. We meet on a Wednesday Morning at The Quaker House, St. James Street. We only take referals from Social Workers, Gps. SAAS, Norfolk House etc. so we are all abstanate. As we are not consellors or doctors members must have, or be having help elsewhere for their addiction. We are of mixed sex and ages.

We are looking for people to come and talk to us, about any subject, for about 45/60 mins on a Wednesday Morning. We do not have funds to pay for your services but can ply you with coffee.

If you think you could give up some time please pm me and we will take it up from there.

Thank you for reading thus far and if you are struggling with alcohol yourself pm me and I will forward you our pamphlet on coping stratagies and information on where to obtain help.

Hi Bruce, try contacting the Samaritans to see if one of their members would come down to give you a chat.

Just ignore him Bruce, fortunately the Moderators keep giving him a rest from the forum, I think he's a merchant banker.
