Hi all, this is probably a silly question but i want to know whats normal for a cats teeth. my cats thangs and yes i know this is probably not the right name, but they are sticking out from his mouth, hanging down over his bottom lip. my other cat does not have this so im a bit concerned. he is eating fine and is happy in himself so just wondering if this needs a vets treatment?

Some cats do show their fangs, but not all. Alfie's stick out, so do Aero's but none of the others cats.

Billy's fangs used to show but he's either worn them down or broken the tips off them so they don't show. Mojo's fangs (two of the few remaining teeth) are the longest I've ever seen, she's like some kind of vampire cat.

Not silly at all marbles - so many cats have dental issues these days it's right to check something out if it doesn't feel 'right'. If your cats have trouble eating, or drool or there's an unpleasant smell about their mouths, these are usually good indicators or dental disease or plaque build-up but doesnt sound like yours have any of these problems.
Both Alfie n Aero are shorthaired and Aero is an oriental so she looks like a real vampire cat. Here's Alfie saying 'cheese' http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u30/katkin2/sayCheese.jpg

Tiffy's fangs were like tusks when she was younger. As a very black cat her white teeth showed right under her chin until she had them taken out in a dental a couple of years ago. They were loose and that so they had to go- the holes that were left looked enormous afterwards but she's been fine without them.

How sweet is your cat! sooo cute bless! i do tend to over worry about my animals i said to other half i would come on and see if i could get some advice better to be safe than sorry . His breath does not smell and he does tend to get up close and very personal with me so not noticed a horrible smell and again i havent noticed any drool. i will keep a check on him though just to be on safe side but he does eat well, soft food along with biscuits so probably is ok
