Does anyone know of any software that will allow me to connect my phone line to the pc so that I can dial numbers on the pc and talk through my pc headset the same as a call centre?
Hope someone can help as I've wanted something like this for ages. Cheers

Here you go buddy: www.skype.com
that's not quite what he's asking for.
you need a modem that supports voice calls and connects to the soundcard to play and receive sound. Software to do this sort of thing normally comes with your modem.
Cheers both. I'll have a look at the modem I've got in.

He asked for software not hardware so in fact it is what he asked for.
Read the original post again if you have any doubts :P

Actually sorry to disagree but Cyclone is correct.
Pauly's looking for something like BVRP phonetools which allows you to use your computers modem and/or sound card speaker/mic sockets to use the phone line as a phone line... not via the net which is what Skype does.
However Pauly probably didn't know about Skype either and just to add it's a pretty good piece of software but it does require net access and doesn't allow phone to phone connection unless you have a VOIP (voice over internet protocol) phone or device (and that means more hardware, not software)

Woo Hoo !
Thanks for the advice people but still no joy. Had a look on some of the free download sites but nothing there either. I'd rather not have to pay for it if I can help it as it's more of a toy than anything.
If anyone knows of any freeware/shareware programs that would do the job then please let me know.

You need your dial-up modem connected and there is a dialer inside Windows.
If you are using XP then go <Run <dialer
