Electrosexual returns on Saturday 12th April, with another incredible guest, as we push ever forward in 2008.
After quite a remarkable event in March, where Dave Robertson gave an outstanding performance on his first visit to Sheffield, ES once again presents another DJ who is among one of the best on the scene...........
Electrosexual presents.... PAUL THOMAS(Godskithen/Toolroom)
At only 28 Paul Thomas is someone who is causing something of a major stir in the dance music fraternity. With props from some of the most highly respected producers and DJs in the world including Pete Tong, Sasha & Steve Lawler; the massive success of his own clubbing brand ‘Dex in the City’ and a raft of upcoming releases planned for 2008… Paul Thomas is undoubtedly one of those artists who makes you sit up and take notice.
Paul has been DJing since 1998 when he was spotted by Bedrock’s Steve Gerrard whilst playing at early Stereo and Sundissential parties His major breakthrough came in 2003 where Godskitchen snapped him us as their new resident to open their own flagship venue Air. Since then with the backing of the Godskitchen team his profile has simply risen enormously. A mammoth 6hr NYE set earned him a legion of fans and an official residency with the UK’s biggest club brand. Paul’s Godskitchen residency continues to go from strength to strength where he frequently plays alongside the biggest names in dance music. During the past 4 years, Paul has played for Godskitchen more than any other DJ spinning alongside the likes of Deep Dish, Tiesto, Sasha, Erick Morillo, Carl Cox, John Digweed, Layo & Bushwacka!, Xpress2 and Fergie to name but a few.
Paul is no stranger to major events and 2007 saw him return to play the huge Global Gathering festival in the UK on the Radio 1 outdoor stage to 15,000 people for the fourth year running. Paul made his debut at the first ever Global Gathering event held in the Ukraine where he performed on the main stage beside Gabriel & Dresden. The event organisers were so pleased with his performance he was promptly given a second peak slot playing between Steve Angello & Danny Howells in the Kiss FM arena. His extensive winter tour schedule will take him to USA, South America, Asia and all over Europe.
Paul’s rigorous studio schedule for 2007 was hugely successful, with critically acclaimed remixes of Da Hool – Meet Her At The Love Parade (Data Records), Josh Wink – Higher State (Strictly), and D Ramirez & Mark Knight – Columbian Soul (Toolroom) being some of the highlights. His original production Slubberdegullion was release on Toolroom, as well as being licensed to several mix compilations. Everyone from Sasha to Pete Tong, Deep Dish to Steve Angello has playing his tracks, with no fewer than 5 tracks being played on Radio 1.
Big things are planned for 2008. Paul has just remixed 2007’s biggest track, Deadmau5’s Not Exactly for Data, plus a classic anthem from ’99, Ariel’s A9 for Newstate. With brand new material forthcoming on Toolroom, Data, Baroque, Whoop and Sander Kleinenberg’s Little Mountain imprint, plus interesting collaborations planned with some of the biggest names in house music including Micky Slim, Funkagenda, Jerome Isma-ae and Redanka, and a Godskitchen mix compilation coming soon, 2008 looks to be an exciting year indeed.
“Only every now a then a DJ a talented and fresh as Paul Thomas comes along” Fergie
“Paul Thomas is one of the most consistent and freshest DJs around”
Nic Fanciulli
Joining Paul in the main room will be Electrosexual residents Watty, Danny Waterfall & Daniel Evans, ensuring an epic night from start to finish.
We have no doubt that this party is set to be off the hook... The ES events have become better & better each month, a trend that we tend to keep up!!!!
