Hi there any body
remember Bradleys Records
one at the moor top and one on chapelwalk?

i am trying to contact the owners son HOWARD who used to work there ...He worked both shops.
He was a good friend back in the 70s/early 80s...and he was a bass guitar player in various bands ..The Ultimates>was a name i remember..
would love to see how hes doing
i have tried and had no luck on numerous occasions to find him.
he used to go to school in Edinborough Scotland (Rudolf Steiner)

Thanks ...peace dave cx

Yes!

I certainly remember Bradleys Records - mainly the Chapel Walk one which was brilliant! I even remember the designs on their bags as well which was a black circular swirl - bit like a record I think - on either a yellow or a white bag. Please correct me here if Im wrong!!! Used to buy loads of vinyl from there as well as computer games in the 80s.

Wasnt the other one in Fargate, roughly where H&M is now? I know in this one they had a downstairs department which I can vividly remember buying ZX Spectrum games from lol.

Also...when did they finally close? I seem to think about late 80's?

Has anyone got any photographs of the interiors or exteriors of the shops?

Did they have any branches anywhere else in the region?

I only remember the Fargate branch. I used to buy records there circa 1968/69.

Did the Chapel Walk branch take over from Cann's, or was it in a different location?

I remember ordering Led Zeppelin IV there. The hype was to order in advance as it was expected to sell out quick. Wilson Peck at the junction of Barker's Pool and Leopold Street also sold vinyl. I remember listening to Beatles singles in their upstairs private wooden booths, 0 then not buying them due to insufficient possession of necessary funds!

Dave Clayton, if you're still here. You'll remember the mayhem that was the navassa cruise when you were pushed to the fore in a music contest and won it whilst pickled playing Child in time on piano, beating all those leeds kids. Probably shaped your career

I use to go each week to the fargate branch and listen to a selection of the new releases and select 5 in exchange for Bradleys advertising at Silver Blades. For about 2 years about 67-68.

i remember we once went round town looking for nazi skins that had mobilised in sheff for an irish march one saturday, mid 80s
we found one on fargate and he legged it into bradleys records, we left him laying under a pile of empty record sleeves as we left :D
