We've just had a BT line connected at home and now want to set up a dial up pay-as-you-go account (we won't use it enough to warrant having broadband). What's the cheapest/most reliable one to use?

When I was on dial up I was with supanet it was £4.99 a month for unmetered connection as on special offer (half price in New year!!) it has since gone back to £9.99.

I would not recommend pay as you go accounts unless you only go online for minutes a couple of times a week !!

www.supanet.com has further details!!

We used to be on Tesco.net 'anytime' at £12.49 per month.
They also do a time restricted option at £4.99 per month - access from 1200 hrs to 1600 hours I think, local call rate applies to usage outside those hours.
Never had any problems getting connected.

Happy to be on broadband, these days :)

Do you really mean you want a 'pay-as-you-go' account?
If so there are loads of free ISPs where you only pay for the phone calls you make to the server.

A couple here:

IC24: http://www.ic24.net/payasyougo/default.asp

UK2NET: http://adial.co.uk/

I used to use IC24 years ago for PAYG, they were pretty good.

Yahoo even provide one, but don't advertise it much now:
