View Full Version : Trouble at the casbah? ianm 27-09-2003, 15:10 i've heard a few stories recently about grief in the casbah both up + downstairs has anybody seen anything is this true or not?:( DaBouncer 27-09-2003, 15:12 Elaborate more and I may be able to help you! tinajones 27-09-2003, 15:53 i used to go to the casbah all the time and never suffered any agro, but i did once get my bag nicked from right under my feet. (yup i was dancing round me handbag) i later found it stuffed in a dark corner, with all my money gone - but they left my chanel face powder so it wasn't all bad! Lickszz 28-09-2003, 11:19 I've been there many times from recent to the old days. Only ever seen trouble on a very few limited occasions. green 29-09-2003, 13:02 i cant see it really...... however........i heard that urban gorilla on friday at charles st had loads of fighting on both floors....... that truly goes against the grain of what the promoters are trying to achieve..... surely those fightin are better to go in places like orchis???? crap_snapper 02-10-2003, 00:56 i worked at Charles St and there is very little trouble on the urban gorilla floors on a Friday night. There is usually a great atmosphere there. tinajones 02-10-2003, 09:27 i've never seen a fight in charles st. (not saying they don't happen). i have recently seen a major ruckus break out at the repubic and the sheff uni students union. figh****ch.co.uk:lol: that is supposed to say fight watch. whys it gone all censored? JonHarrison 03-10-2003, 11:39 A week last Saturday the bouncers trundled downstairs to stop a small altercation between a couple of lads. It was the weekend that Cardiff City came a calling but that could just be coincidence. before that I have not seen a fight downstairs for over a year. I might have possibly got over exuberrant on the dance floor but hey, everyones having a good time in the end. There was also a small spat between 2 girls which was dealt with quickly by the group of lads with them. All in all, a cauldron of fun with very limited trouble. Possibly one of the most fight free venues in the city! Shocker 02-11-2003, 19:39 I've never seen any trouble at the Casbah but then I dont frequent it that often. In the 6 months that I have been enjoying myself at Charles Street, I have seen just one fight, upstairs, a couple of "drunk boys" battering each others brains out. Nasty! Becuse fight watch has a **** in the middle - just like s****horpe has a ****! Hehe that will have it working overtime :) Clair-bear 04-11-2003, 10:59 Hi, The very first time I went to the Casbah there was a fight going on at the doors (about 6 mnts ago). I understand that the bouncers have a job to do but when one of the guys who were fighting tried to get inside, the bouncer clothes lined him and started kicking him repeatedly in the head....not nice!!! I don't know if things such as this generally just occur most often at weekends because have been since on weekdays and the atmosphere was totally different (i.e. nice!). Haven't witnessed any trouble anywhere else! Clair x tinajones 04-11-2003, 17:53 if people need to fight in the casbah then they obviously ain't discovered the (new-ish) huge table-football er table, have they!!! Pete1024 04-11-2003, 19:39 the casbah has got better, It used to be done by ACE securities, who are the worst thugs in the business. Its now done by a better security firm. There is still the odd BBC or OCS football huligan in there, but the bouncers keep the peace well. sec1 06-11-2003, 07:18 Originally posted by Pete1024 There is still the odd BBC or OCS football huligan in there, but the bouncers keep the peace well. don't mean anything, when sham 69 played corp we had the above in plus combat 18, no trouble all night, so just because someone belongs to such a group don't mean it's going to be wall to wall violence all night rs6060 10-11-2003, 10:32 The Casbar is like any club, you can find trouble if your looking. The club still has it's fair share of hooligans but you really need to avaiod most of the people wearing Stone Island gear (look for the patch on the left arm of clothing). If your downstairs be carefull not to get too involved in the moshing when tracks by band like Nirvana, Tenpole Tudor and Sham 69 come on. Stay to th sides of the dance floor and on the whoile you won;t get involved in anything which may start up. Most of the 'big' lads will just mosh with each other, and be warned you'll notice a few of the bouncers on the edge of the dance floor encouraging the moshing!!!! If you want a good night just go downstairs and dance on the edges of the dance floor, I haven't seen any real trouble in over a year. With regards to Charles Street, saw about 4 hoolivans parked outside the other Saturday night!!!! Rich slh73 23-11-2003, 20:23 Ive only seen trouble in the Casbah once, that was around xmas time, about 2, maybe 3 years ago. Went in with some people from work, and someone (not one of our lot BTW) jumped over the bar, and ran along the back smashing all the spirit bottles with a stick. Bouncers knocked him to the floor and got the police in, had to close the pub after that cos of all the broken glass everywhere. jessinsheff 28-04-2011, 15:31 i know 2 dj's at the casbah who do the rock set and i and go most weeks , never seen any trouble Ghostrider 28-04-2011, 15:34 i know 2 dj's at the casbah who do the rock set and i and go most weeks , never seen any trouble Check the date of the post before yours :hihi: |
