I'm wanting to know how long it would take to get from Sheffield to Cleethorpes in a car?.

www.theaa.com try here it has a route planner... but i have had a look its about 1 hr 20 mins if you follow the route planner!:thumbsup:

About 50 minutes if you get your foot down! That's if you don't miss the exit on the M18 like I did last month, and ended up in Hull! :D

But come off the M1 at M18 junction or you'll end up anywhere but Cleethorpes! Journey time approx 1.15 -1.25 mins (depends on traffic once you come off the motorways).

Yeah.. you're only the M1 for 1 mile... I said that as it depends on where you start from in Sheffield - it can take anywhere from 20-30mins to get to the M1. (I'm thinking parkway here)
Without speeding on the motorways I've done it in an hour.
As you say, it's the traffic either end which adds the time.

I went yesterday 1.hr 20 mins. but it was so cold and foggy we came home after 2hrs.

I have done it in 1 hour and 15 minutes frim Meersbrook

When you get on the M180, off the M18 keep an eye on your speed.

Last ime I went to Cleggy I noticed no fewer than five traffic cars ( some south yorks M18 and some humberside M180 )
and two transit vans with speed cameras in the back in laybyes.

Just to concur with the rest of the thread, the M1 -> M18 -> M180 route takes about 75 - 90 minutes. I like to come back the 'scenic' route, through, through Willingham and Market Rasen, which is about 2 hours drive.

It takes just over an hour to get to Cleethorpes, but coming back is a much quicker as you just want to 'get the hell out of there'.

Superb fish and chips, though. And almost worth the journey for that alone.

Sheffiield to Cleethorpes takes just over an hour in the car, Parkway, M18, M180 to Humberside... Quick drive through Grimsby, sorted.

I used to live in Cleethorpes back in my student days in the early to mid 1990s so I did the journey regularly at weekends.
