Can someone tell me what WIFI is please in regards to a Laptop/Notebook?

in the simple term: wifi is a radio signal that replaces a wire. You dont have to have a wire to the laptop to see the internet so you can walk round the house or sit in the garden. You do have to have a wire to the modem/wifi router which can sit behind the TV out of sight.

If you use a laptop wifi is a must,so much easier and neater.

Yes...

...as long as you don't need to be plugged-in because your laptop's battery life is rubbish.

And that you don't insist on using a normal mouse because you can't get on with the trackpad.

And you don't permanently have an external hard drive connected because your laptop has a feebly small hdd.

I dont mind touch pads,

My laptops battery is crap (lasts about an hour, the laptop is not even a year old)

... and what do you call feebly small?? (im on 120GB, with about 40GB free)
