View Full Version : My cousin got her car broke into...
My cousin who is a student, has a Citroen Saxo and some numpties broke in last night - damaging both locks to nick a radio. GET A LIFE!
I HATE THIEFS WITH ALL MY GUTS...this makes me really mad...Even to Fairydreams (the lady whose daughter got mugged) and where the perpetrator hardly got a punishment from the judicial system.
What is happening to society??????? I have been informed that a colleague of mine has just been caught stealing (I am still on maternity leave) and my blood is curdling. All the time I have been a position where I have been fighting against thieves/druggies, and a COLLEAGUE has been stealing from within???
ARGHHHHHHH. If I had a smily that screams and shouts, I'd put it up (can someone please add it for me???!!!) I am just so annoyed with scumbags of society. I work hard for my living why do people just think that they can take from others and hurt them in the process??????????

That's the one. I'll add a few more:
:rant::rant::rant::rant:
because my insurance premiums (both mine and my wife's) are DOUBLE this year thanks to these scum who got 5 minutes of 'fun' and a fiver down the pub due to the ridiculous amount of car crime (3 incidents in a year, including 2 thefts) we have been subject to.
Why the hell do I have to pay double 'cos some sad little git thinks he has as much right to my stuff as I do?

Hi Liose
Some possible answers - Drugs; debts; compulsion; thrill; lack of moral fibre; inability to differentiate between right and wrong; revenge; hate; easy option; poor parenting; poverty; etc. One thing is fairly certain though - that people who steal probably give no thought whatsoever for their victim. A criminal justice system which addresses reparation as well as compensation is currently being developed. The old adage 'let the punishment fit the crime' has some resonance with me.
My partner had his motorbike stolen last week. Last night, the police arrested a 'fence'. The bike, not two years old, is now minus the wheels, and is damaged. Do the criminals care? - of course not. Hence, for me, the importance of reparation for criminals upon conviction.

MMMmm I certainly agree...but our justice systems doesn't seem to be in any fit state at the moment. Sorry to hear about the trouble your having...It really is so annoying and the good fairing citezens of society seem powerless to do anything. If we go into the street and ask them to move on or quit smoking their drugs, we get torrents of abuse or a brick through the window and they never get caught. Yet if we go out and give them a good hiding, we're the ones that end up behind bars.

Yes Redrobbo - IF they are caught I totally agree. But they have to get caught and then charged. The process is long and complicated.
I had my car smashed to smithereens at work by someone who didn't like the fact I had had him prosecuted for stealing and who stabbed my security guard in the process (about 18 months ago). When it came to the court hearing, I had to back out because he had threatened my staff. For me, I live 40 miles from where I work and I would have gladly given evidence, but the staff live round the corner and the police could not guarantee anyone's safety. This guy got away with it...It just really makes me annoyed.
I am so sorry about the bike.
I know just how you feel. Myself and husband have had 3 crimes committed against us in the last 2 years. We are only working class hardworking people who save hard for the things we want and some lowlifes think it's fair game for any leech that wants it. Last year we had an attempted break in during the early hours ..Luckily we woke up as they were attempting to prise out the french windows. I ended up having 6 months off work with depression because i could no longer feel safe in my own home and couldn't sleep for fear of being asleep when someone got in the house. A few months ago my husband had his swimming locker broke into and our car keys then car were stolen. It ended up with over 2000 pounds worth of damage and 100 pounds excess to pay never mind the stress and hassle because our house keys were in the car. I think it stinks the way decent people have to pussy foot around these criminals and the police do nothing(They knew from CCTV footage who stole our car but the images were not clear enough to stand up in court. So Liose i am sorry for your cousin and hope she gets it all sorted out soon.

Whilst I agree with your sentiment, you do imply that people who haven't worked hard for their money but still have it deserve to get it stolen off them. No-one deserves their possessions or money to be stolen from them, whether they're working, middle, upper class or anything else you can think of.

I don't think she implied that at all!

Haha, are you serious? I live in Ecclesfield and I certainly never see any of what you've mentioned! The only thing that ever happens in Ecco is a pub fight now and again.. Certainly no general "havoc"... So... Care to ellaborate??? :?  :loopy:
technophobe 20-03-2005, 10:33 These soooo called car thieves are definately on the increase at the moment I too had my car broken into and theyve caused so much damage its been in the garage for 2 weeks and has cost me £200 excess never mind the inconvenience..... The thing is it HAPPENING ALL THE TIME NOW!!!!! so these culprits are definately stealing to order so we all have to be vigilant and if you are offered one at a cheap price then just remember what goes around come around.
IT MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL TOO KNOWING WE ALL WORK HARD TO BUY NICE THINGS ONLY FOR THEM TO BE TAKEN AWAY BY MINDLESS, THIEVING, NUMB SCULLS.......
What choice do we have but hope they get their comeuppance!

Oh pleaeeese
have you nothing better to do then see things in people's comments that aren't there. Of course i meant that no one deserves these things to happen to them..it never crossed my mind to think any differently between any class of person. i think it is you who have shown yourself to believe there is a difference between classes. You obviously have a huge chip on your shoulder..Grow up!!!

Not at all, that's just how it read to me. If that wasn't the case, brilliant. At least this has been clarified though for any other people who read the same implication.
