Is there a program avialable for free download, that deletes any file?

I need it to remove some old files of a program that I uninstalled and it left some files behind which it wont let me delete.

Any help would be appreciated:thumbsup:

Chances are it's not letting you delete them because they're still in use somehow...

Try looking for something that shows you everything in memory/use and find ways to kill the relevant processes so you can delete them...

That said, if they're still in use you have to ask yourself the question, why are you deleting them...

Just a thought and not an overly helpful one I'm afraid.

If your having trouble deleting files using add/remove programs in windows, try using this bit of software instead....at your own risk, read first.

Very good for getting rid of annoying files you cant get to in add/remove, as long as you know what your doing (at least a lil' bit) and its free.

There are a few utilities for removing these files. I have left links to some of them at the bottom of a post i made Here (http://www.cbttechs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=277).
Be very careful what you remove though!. Personally, if they're not taking up much space and i can't delete them in safe mode, i leave them be ;).

I'd boot up in Linux and use that to delete the files, but I appreciate that this may be too complicated for a lay-man.

Thanks to all the replys, I downloaded eraser and it's done the trick, the files are no longer there, or they have atleast been overwritten.

Thanks again!
