just wondering if anyone knows how/where/if windows media player 10 stores the information you ADD to files?

id like to have all the years, album titles, genres and my ratings of each song to save if i back up or move the files... any ideas? if i spend a good amount of time putting this info in i dont want to lose it all again.

someone said something to me about `metatags' but i have no idea what they meant.

I'm pretty sure WMP stores it in the metatags, although it might just store them in its database...

and metatags are just pieces of information in the actual file itself, ID3 tags for MP3, similar type thing for WMA and Ogg... thats about the simplist way to explain it :)

why not just do one file, move it, and see if it's saved it?
