anyone know any decent, genuine companies where you can work from home? I'm desperate to get off benefits but childcare issues mean I'm unable to go out to work. I have several good qualifications.

SugarPuff 06-04-2008, 22:15 Hi Honeybee, I did some home-work for a card/wrapping factory (can't recall name) near Kelham Island a few years ago to earn some extra Xmas cash. I don't know whether this would be too boring and unstimulating (it's just factory work at home really!) They delivered and collected the work every week. Also did Book Parties for Usborne and Dorling Kindersley which were day or evening, you fit it round your own routine. I took my then baby with me, and it was a fair earner when I got plenty of bookings, aswell as having loads of books to read with my daughter! That's all I can think of, not much I know but it's a start! Good luck X Hanksy 07-04-2008, 09:59 I dont do too badly at home with my 10 mth old. I suppose it depends on what so of job and income you are wanting. I sell childrens books, so i may do a evening party, whereas I put my son to bed and then go to the party (Husband at home) Some house parties can work out £40-£50 an hour. Then there is soft play areas, we love Big tops at dinnington whereas i sell my books whilst i have my little one in the under 3's section. Then there is sponsored reads from schools, book pledges etc, whereas he is in his pram whilst im doing the work in the school - max 10/15 mins. I then do all my admin work in his dinner time nap or at 7pm when he sleeps. Im always looking for people promote childrens books too - see my website if interested in having a go!
