Does anyone know how long they are there for?

It's adding about 20 mins to my journey to work in the morning!

It's an absolute nightmare. It was not so long ago that there was some lights in that very same position before this work started.

Crikey, don't let Sheffield City Council hear you saying that. They'll be working overtime in order to have the lights put there permanently.

Quotes like 'adding 20 minutes to my journey' is sweet music to their ears.

And they're left on RED (both ways) at night. :loopy:

I know the feeling I get stuck in that traffic too! They don't even seem to be there for a reason as the work doesn't seem to be on the same junction either does it?

I managed to get through these lights after a very long wait the other day and was met with a pipe sticking out of the road further down - water gushing everywhere! As well as these probs and the Hillsborough water park affair . . . does it make you think at all?? . . End of tax year coming up, money has to be spent?....;)

Sadly the situation has marginally improved. When they were first put there nobody knew and so didn't plan around them. For a week it added a full hour to my journey time. Now I set off 10 minutes earlier, and others must have made changes too because my journey time is back to it's old level.

On the way home I have figured out a different route than misses Rutland Road altogether.

Yes it's a 'mare and I hate it. The worst thing is is that since the lights have been there I've not seen anybody working! I'm inclined to believe the politcal argument that the council are using up surplus cash in order to get more.

And now, back by popular demand... just when you thought it was safe to use Rutland Road again...they're back.

Temporary traffic lights blocking Rutland Road, causing tailback to Fir Vale.

I know, had just started using this route as I was finding it quicker to get home - until last night that is.... :(

Anyone know if they have been cleared yet?

I got to the bottom of Cookswood RD and saw the mayhem so did a swift left turn and a right down Pitsmoor Rd.

the lights are normally red longer there due to pimps messing with the lights so the prostitutes can parade infront of your car!!!

I think all the town planners must live at the other side of the city .
If they had to travel on Penistone Road towards Town a better temporary arrangement would be sorted.
The volume of vehicles using Rutland Road has increased to to construction of new ring road . A lot of traffic turns right heading towards ringroad but the lights are still the same as before it would make a lot of sense for a temporary filter arrow to ease the flow.

Anyone know if they're still there?
Don't want to be delayed on a Friday night - need to get to the pub!

7? I want to be in the boozer by then! I finish at 5:30 so it will be madness getting home - I'll go over Fir Vale (which probably isn't much better...)

I had a feeling that would be your answer, but then if you know Rutland Road anyway you'll know that anytime before 6.30 is stupidly busy anyway (thanks to the amazing wisdom of sheffield city council and their new roads!!!!)

at least it should be ok for getting home ;)

Roadworks on Rutland Road - they are SUCH a nuisance and I hope they will not be there for long. Causing so long tailbacks.
Sheff City Council should make sure that they are worked on 24/7 to get them done with asap

How long will the traffic lights be there for this time? I am sick of sitting in traffic, there aren't many other ways I can go to work.

Anyone been on Rutland Road today (Saturday) - have they totally gone yet?

I drove down Rutland Road this morning and thankfully they have gone!

I drove down yesterday and although the lights had gone I was still queueing from the lights just past the top of Barnsley Road! Been going to work via herries Road/Penistone Road and got there much quicker even though it puts a couple of miles on my journey.

Be warned - they're back... :(

Doesn't look like major roadworks this time though, so hopefully not for long.
