Do any of you ever go walking on a Saturday? I know Saturdays are difficult for some with work, but I find Sundays very difficult to keep clear with other commitments that have to be juggled. My Saturdays on the other hand are often wasted doing totally unnecessary things like cleaning the house and ironing :hihi: Any excuse to get out of it!

Well I did the cleaning and ironing this morning then went for a walk later on. I really needed to get out into the fresh air after spending Friday really hung over after my visit to the first day of the Grand National Meeting on Thursday - a few pictures here (http://picasaweb.google.com/neotericwalks/AintreeFirstDayGrandNationalMeeting3April2008).
I actually went up to Horton-in-Ribblesdale, which is the start of the Yorkshire three peaks walk, and would probably have done Pen-y-Gent had there not been a severe hailstone storm - so I turned back; but 15 minutes later it was bright and sunny again but I hadn't got the heart to turn back uphill again.
Met some people who were celebrating a 40th birthday, but one of their friends had recently died in a car accident - so because he had promised to come they made a guy fawkes like dummy with his old clothes and his photo as the face. A bit macabre but I thought it was a nice thought, anway I told them I would post the pictures on here (http://picasaweb.google.com/neotericwalks/FunnyGoingsOnInHortonInRibblesdale5April2008).
I think I may do some more Saturday outings but these will be mainly unplanned spur of the moment things.
Fantastic photos there neo....nice to see where we will be going next month

The problem with Saturday Joey is exactly what you said, which is that quite a number of people work. There are also some people who watch live sport on a Saturday too.
We've actually had this argument before, and we did try some Saturday walks about a year ago, specifically for those people who said they'd prefer to walk Saturday to Sunday. Guess what happened? The people who wanted them didn't turn up, some regular Sunday walkers couldn't make it, and we ended up with poorly attended walks with just a few 'Sunday regulars' turning up!
Of course there's nothing to stop you organising a walk yourself for a Saturday and posting it in here. You never know, you might end up with a sort of Saturday club!
Haha, thanks Scoobz. I wasn't meaning to change the regular walk to a Saturday, just wondered if anyone went on a Saturday as well.
If you want to do a walk on a specific Saturday Joey, you could always start a thread during the week asking if anyone is interested. You might get some folk who can't make the Sunday meet that week, or who are feeling super-energetic and fancy doing both! Give it a go, you've nowt to lose. :)

Joey... you know me and my movements so you can always ask. Not doing no overtime at the mo so Saturday's are ok for now.
Brill - but you can't go for a walk this Saturday, you're busy. :hihi:
