Does someone know if sharrow festival is taking place today?
It was today but it will rain, it will be postponed until next 19th but ...any news?

Bit late now, but yes it was cancelled due to the unseasonable weather.

It's now going to be held on the 19th, all other details remain the same.

I believe its next weekend, Im thinking of going with the little-un, has anyone been before and is it any good for small people?

I know the weather is horrible and dull and cold but is it still on today Sat (19th) ? Least it might cheer us up a bit after the weather, snow and the fire in the church/mosque ...

Sharrow Lantern Carnival 2008
THE CARNIVAL IS NOW ON THE 19TH APRIL

We are gathering at 7.30pm at Mount Pleasant Park. At 8pm a children's bongo band and the Sheffield samba band will take around 1500 people and lanterns through the streets of Sharrow. We will end up at the General Cemetery at around 9pm to be entertained by belly dancers, fire spinners and many more UNTIL 10.30PM

Check out the General Cemetery from 2pm 19th April for danicng, music, massage and last minute lantern making workshops!!

Perhaps someone from the festival could come on here and confirm that it IS on today in view of the weather etc
