How often do you move house/flat/etc...?

Why do you move alot? / Why are you not moving?

If you lived in the same place for a very long time, i.e. 10 years or more. Is it because you've found a perfect home or is it simply too costly to move elsewhere?

Do you visit estate agents to see houses to poke around other peoples home when you have no intention of buying?
I've read about this and wonder why people do it. Is it because they get ideas for making their house/flat a home or is it because you've got nothing better to do or something else?

How many times have you moved in your life?

I have moved house 18 times in 27 years. The longest I stayed anywhere was nearly 5 years. I would probably still be there if my then next door neigbour hadn't exchanged houses with a neigbour from hell. I have been in my present home for 8 months and now it looks like it may be demolished in a couple of years. Oh well I think it will be a caravan next.:help: :headbang:

I moved around a bit after I was born being that my Dad was navy. Then settled in the same godforsaken place for 15 years. After that I never stayed more than 6mths in one place and now I have been settled in one place for just over three years.

I have to admit though I am getting itchy feet and would love to move to a bigger house with garden!

In 2002 I moved house 4 times in the space of 10 months :?

I like moving somewhere new and starting again but last year was too much .. lol .. me and my fiance are planning on staying in this flat until summer next year and then we are probably going to look into moving into a 2 bed house somewhere. In time I think we are going to end up moving back to the north east.

Gee its good to know I'm not the only one who can't stay in one place for long. I think my next move may well be the last one though as I'm getting a bit long in the tooth now for all the packing and decorating etc. I have to admit though its great fun planning new colour schemes and buying stuff for the "new house".

I have moved house many times for various reasons, living with relatives, a better area, divorce, but have been here 27 years and would only move now to a Villa in Spain!!!

I tend to move house around the time that the left and right unit space fill up with pots around the sink.

I feel a sense of freedom at moving on and leaving it all behind :)

I lived in one house from being born to getting married. Since then (41 years) I've lived in 9 in 4 different towns/cities. The shortest time was about 18 months, the longest 13 years.

Six years in my first house (I was born there).
Six years in my second.
Six years in my third.
Two years in my fourth.
Buzzed around in a few different lodgings for three months, then back to #4 for a year; since when, I've been here, for almost 18 years now.
