View Full Version : Carney to Bayern Munich matt1889 04-04-2008, 09:17 A usually reasonable source of info has told me that bayern munich have contacted us to refresh their interest in David Carney, and are currently thrashin out a deal with us, however the proposed fee is unknown?? Robbie Loving 04-04-2008, 09:59 Can't see it at all. Agent Gypo 04-04-2008, 10:09 Carney wouldn't make the bench at Bayern Munich. SteveBlade 04-04-2008, 11:36 Look at Kazim Richards! Anything could happen :P sheffy1986 04-04-2008, 14:48 Yeah And Real Madrid are considering putting in an offer for Alan Quinn!!! boboskins 04-04-2008, 15:17 Yeah And Real Madrid are considering putting in an offer for Alan Quinn!!! Is that so? Well he has been playing well for Ipswich hasn't he ;) Stockers 04-04-2008, 16:30 This is an old rumour i heard about Christmas time Bayern Munich were interested in Carney for £5.5m, i'd snap their hands off at that sort of price. Agent Gypo 06-04-2008, 14:29 This is an old rumour i heard about Christmas time Bayern Munich were interested in Carney for £5.5m, i'd snap their hands off at that sort of price. I'd snap my own hands off for that sort of price. Woodbine 07-04-2008, 10:05 If it is true then it will be for a sizeable fee no doubt. Robbie Loving 07-04-2008, 10:10 I'd snap my own hands off for that sort of price. I'd steal a plane and fly him there for that price. matt1889 07-04-2008, 11:18 Well like I said my source is usually very correct on these things! I too am scratching my head thinking what the hell do Bayern want with Carney but obiously they see a quality in him that could be useful to their team, I mean just because he's completely useless for us doesn't mean that he will move to bayern and blossom does it? As for the 5.5 price tag i've heard that that deal with it's clauses should be around the 2 million region with an initial down payment of 1.4 million for his signature, other clauses include appearances and a sell on fee. But still thats enough for me to say bye bye to him if you get what I mean, I think he has been a bit of a let down at the lane to be honest, at first I thought he was gonna be a big hit with us, a new Michael Brown but out wide, but he's been a real flop perfoming well once or twice all season!, so what can I say GET SHUT! Robbie Loving 07-04-2008, 11:46 Can't agree Matty. I think Carney has been a good signing, and still on a learning curve. Stockers 07-04-2008, 12:05 Its a bit harsh on Carney, he needs time to settle but in my opinion he offers a bit of flair to the team that the likes of Quinn, Monty etc don't have. I think its unfair to call him a flop but if Bayern Munich want to splash a bit of cash on him i think we should consider our options and what else we can get for the money. I think Carney would be better suited to a European style of football as opposed to the rough and tumble of the Championship. leviathan13 07-04-2008, 12:06 Can't agree Matty. I think Carney has been a good signing, and still on a learning curve. Totally agree. Much like with debates I have with people who slag Stead off saying his goal tally isn't good enough etc. It's because they can't get on the pitch as to why we haven't seen much from them. If Stead had the run that Sharp had, and Carney with the run that Tonge's had, then I think we'd have done more. tosh13 07-04-2008, 12:55 According to the Australian F.A Carney is the best player they have ,even though he is a decent player if he is the best in Aussie land god help them ,mind you they only have Kewell who is never off the treatment table, Viduka play's 1 match then he is out for 3. |
