This is a bit of a long shot, but was wondering if anyone may be able to help as Im not too familiar with the non league scene in Sheffield. I basically am looking for a team; I moved to the area 3 years ago for university having played a lot of football back home in Stoke; I was on Crewe's books until the age of 16 (admitedly I was a bit of a cocky git there and it gave me a kick in the teeth being released) I went onto have a six week trial at Stoke City's academy but was unsuccessful and played on the non league circuit for a year before being pushed into university. I've got very good connections with non league teams back home, particularly Nantwich Town & Stone Dominoes, but nobody here. I spent the first year of uni recovering from cruciate ligament damage and havent got back really seriously since but am really looking for a friendly team of a reasonably good standard were I can build up match fitness and hopefully progress and enjoy playing again; I've barely kicked a ball for 2 years I just really need to get back training!!

Can anyone help; Id be happy to just train and pay subs until I get back to a level where I might be useful, Im thinking itd take a couple of months. Im still young (22) and just want to get back; in all honesty a lad I played with at Crewe made his debut for England U-21s the other day and its really p**sed me off!!! :-)

Thank you for any help, much appreciated.

Get yourself calling round the non league teams, Stocksbridge, Sheffield FC and Hallam are probably the best team in the Sheffield region.

Tremendous news! Retford have walked the division, but maybe Club can pip Camell Laird!

Retford can`t go up because their ground doesn’t satisfy ground grading conditions, so Camell Laird have gone up automatically!!
