Did anyone watch Casanova on Sunday night on BBC3?

I watched it and really enjoyed it. Am looking forward to this sunday's episode too.

What it did get me wondering, was Casanova a real person or a fictional character?

My daughter asked her history and english teachers but neither of them knew.

Anyone any ideas?

Yup he was a real person (well there was a real Cassanova anyway!) Giacomo Casanova. The accuracy of his account of his life is more open to debate!
