I wasn't aware they stopped them. I went to the Granada studios years ago and thought it was ok.

Last time I was looking to see about the Granada tours they had shut the tours studio a few years ago. Have no idea why, it was a good place to visit.

Go on the Coronation Street web site and contact them is the best idea.

I used to go every year...

The first year i went with my cousin we met... William Roache (Ken Barlow) hmmm wasnt keen... :? It was like the star of the day kinda thing... shame it wasnt someone better lol

Unfortunately i do believe it has now closed... I dont really know as to the reasons why... Its such a shame as i wanted to see all the new building work they'd done on the set etc...

Hey ho!

I remember going for my 13th birthday, really enjoyed it, think it was just after the Duckworth's had the cladding done!!

Anyway, think they have shut the tour as they now film alot more often so it would be difficult to have an open set at regular times...that's my guess anyway.

Yes, the tours closed because of the extensive filming due to the increase of episodes.

If you're ever in Manchester on a Sunday, they do often leave the gate open on the road that runs by the corner of Dev's shop, and you can have a quick peep through.

When I went they were filming on the sets and some of the actors came onto the street and met people for a chat.

It's fasicinating walking on the street and looking through the letter boxes of the house and seeing nothing on the otherside

I remember going a few years back on a school trip, would have been about 8-9 years ago now, it was fantastic, I remember a huge fight breaking out between some manc girls and some girls from france and we had to make a statement cos one of the manc girls smashed one of the french girls over the head with a bottle!

Last I heard, no.

I rang up in 2003 and they said that the Granada studios were not open to the public.
